Triple Point Adds £55m Facility to Perch Group’s £400m Funding Platform

| 5 min read

Perch Group’s expanded £400 million funding platform now includes a £55 million facility from Triple Point, giving the Blackpool-based credit manager additional capacity for UK growth and technology investment. Announced on 7 October 2026, the facility also brings Triple Point onto a lending panel that includes NatWest Group, Hampshire Trust Bank, Shawbrook Bank, Paragon Bank and Lloyds. Quilam Capital, an early backer, remains a material equity investor. The facility is one part of a wider financing arrangement, so its significance depends on how much of the platform Perch can draw and how it allocates the funds. The announcement doesn’t disclose those details.

The financing’s scale points to Perch’s development into a sizeable borrower. Founded in 2016, the group has more than 500 employees, manages over one million customers and reports assets under management above £1 billion. Its five businesses cover debt purchasing through Perch Capital, customer engagement through ACI UK, field services through Verify, legal services through SRA-regulated TM Legal, and outsourced contact centre operations through Perch Connect. Taken together, those operations give the group a role in several stages of debt management, from acquiring portfolios to communicating with customers and handling legal work. That breadth can support coordination, though it also makes management and oversight more demanding as the business expands.

Funding supports the next stage of growth

Ellis Diamanti, head of specialty finance at Triple Point

For Triple Point, the deal adds exposure to specialty finance within a platform managing approximately £2.5 billion across specialty finance, clean energy, social housing and ventures. The lender’s head of specialty finance, Ellis Diamanti, called Perch “a genuine UK growth story, built outside London into one of the country’s leading credit management platforms with a ten-year track record.” He said Triple Point looked forward to supporting its next phase of development. The deal also gives Triple Point a foothold in consumer debt purchasing, where returns depend on underwriting and managing portfolios over time. Its broader investment platform may provide context for the lender’s appetite, but the announcement doesn’t set out how the Perch facility fits its portfolio by size or expected return.

Mark Pickup, chief financial officer at Perch Group

Perch CFO Mark Pickup said the broader package “provides a strong foundation for future growth as we continue investing in technology and delivering outstanding customer outcomes.” The company hasn’t identified the technology projects the funding will support or disclosed loan tenors and pricing within the £400 million platform. That leaves the eventual impact dependent on how quickly Perch deploys the capital and what capabilities it builds. Technology spending can help a group handle more activity across its operations, but the announcement offers no detail on the systems involved or the results Perch expects. The numbers here are substantial; the operational case still needs to be demonstrated.

Fieldfisher LLP advised Perch Group. Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised Triple Point, while Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP advised the senior lending syndicate. The list shows that the transaction involved advisers to the borrower, the new lender and the existing senior lenders. It doesn’t reveal the terms of the facility or how the parties divided responsibilities across the broader platform, so it offers little further detail on the financing’s structure.

Scale and execution will shape the outcome

Perch’s integrated operating model spans the customer journey, from purchasing debt portfolios to legal, field and contact centre services. In a sector where customer outcomes and collections practices attract close scrutiny, keeping these functions within one group gives Perch more direct control over its operations. That can help the group coordinate how customers are contacted and how cases move between teams. It also concentrates a wide range of operational responsibilities within the same business. And this is the part most people overlook: integration can make coordination easier, but it doesn’t by itself show that customer outcomes have improved.

The lending panel combines large banks with specialist lenders, reflecting Perch’s access to a broad group of funding sources. A diverse panel can give a borrower more than one route to financing, while lenders can assess opportunities within their own risk and return requirements. For Triple Point, the facility marks a move into a market where assessing debt portfolio quality calls for sector expertise. The transaction signals its willingness to compete in consumer debt purchasing alongside more established private credit managers. If you’re working in this space, the composition of the panel may be as relevant as the headline facility: it indicates that Perch has brought another lender into an existing funding network.

Here’s the thing: an enlarged facility is capacity, not proof of growth. Perch will need to put funding to work in a way that supports its portfolio purchases and operating plans, while managing the demands that come with a larger business. The announcement doesn’t say how much of the £400 million platform is available at any one time, or spell out the conditions attached to individual facilities. Those gaps make it difficult to assess the full cost and flexibility of the financing from the headline figure alone.

What to watch as Perch deploys the funding

The clearest measures of progress will be how Perch uses the enlarged facility for new portfolio purchases and whether technology investment supports further expansion beyond its current £1 billion-plus AUM. Those execution milestones will show whether the funding capacity translates into sustained growth. The group’s customer base, operating footprint and range of services give it several possible areas for investment, but the company hasn’t specified priorities. For now, the reported scale describes the platform Perch has built; results will depend on what it does with additional capital. Plenty to prove.
